Dynamic Bitimbric synthesizer (1985)

 

Cheap and plastic-like Italian polysynth based on M112b structure with SSM filter and sequencer

Synthesizer 61 velocity sensitive keys main panel features a segment display, 24 buttons 2 knobs and a modulation wheel.


Back panel terminal connectors:

- stereo output (mainly for chorus effect)
- sequencer clock input
- headphones out
- Midi interface
- pedalswitch input (assignable to LFO retrig, sequencer start/stop or patch UP)

 

TECH TMS7000 handles 12 voices polyphony type DCO based on two custom SGS IC M112B1 also the VCsA + SSM2031. The internal voices that can be played together or layered as a pair of 6 oscillators or even in split mode these are divided in PART1 and PART2 .
The oscillator is digitally controlled DCO and generates 2 shapes:

- square with 3 summable harmonics (each has individual gain) - Square at 16' - Square at 8' - Square at 4' - Sawtooth

OSCILLATOR DK80 can stack polyphony voices into 2 different DCO modes:

- Single --> 1 DCO and 8 notes + 1 pink noise - Dual --> 2 DCO and 4 notes with detune + 1 pink noise

FILTER paraphonic resonant filter based on two SSM2045 (one per part) at 4-poles slopes:

SSM 2045 can be found also on other italo- machine like Solton Project 100 or famous milestone like EMu Emulator II or some Fairlight CMI versions. Worth to mention a useful keytracking option. HEAR resonant filter in action

ENVELOPE 4 EGs:

- EG DCO1 voice A.D.B.S.S.R - EG DCO2 voice A.D.B.S.S.R - EG part 1 filter A.D.B.S.S.R - EG part 2 filter A.D.B.S.S.R NOTE: A.D.B.S.S.R. stands for: attack, decay, break-point, slope, sustain and release HEAR slow pad EG

LFO up to 5 delayed modulators range from 0,25 Hz to 10 Hz:

- LFO1 DCO pitch - LFO1 DCO pitch - LFO2 VCF cutoff - LFO2 VCF cutoff

Extra modulation options are: initial and final depth, free flow or manual retrig mode HEAR LFO on VCF

 

SEQUENCER manages up to 2 tracks with no special functions but an internal Metronome.

Sequencer clock can be synched to either: - analog trigger input - digital Midi clock HEAR synched drum machine

MIDI all parameters can be controller by Midi control change.

EFFECTS double analog chorus based on BBD TDA1022P with no possible edit.

NOTE :Chorus is not available when using WHOLE DCO detune.Other machine with TDA 1022 chorus: Elka Synthex / Siel Cruise / Orla DSE24 / Elka Omb5. HEAR TDA chorus on noise

MEMORY:

MAINTENANCE common issues is the power supply model PS-80 weird 16 V AC with 500 mA and custom pinout - be sure to get this one before buying one unit.

 

RELATED FAMILY:

	Siel ex80 module expander, basically half of a dk80 Suzuki SX-500 - same machine but rebranded for other markets.
	Korg Poly-800 - the dk/Ex80 are often compared to the poly800 for similar structure (sum square + paraphonic, script) but they have different electronics guts and sound different.
