Emu Procussion
Maximum Percussion Module (1991)

Rackmount expander derived from classic Proteus series based on percussives and drum samples.

There are 2 different Procussions models available, just different design and scripts but technically they are just the same.

RACKMOUNT MODULE single rack unit. The main panel features 16 x 2 LCD lines display, 4 push buttons and 1 data encoder.

VOICE main CPU is a 16 bits Motorola MC 68000 manages 32 voices polyphony - relative DACs are Burr-Brown PCM56 same technology used in the EMU Proteus series.
A basic Procussion patch or stack is composed by 4 PCM samples layers then a kit contains up to 24 stacks assigned to keyboard zones - each layer can be read forward, forward or delayed.

WAVETABLE the internal 4 MB ROM is coded at 39 kHz / 16 bits resolution and contains 216 PCM samples derived from classic sampler dinosaur Emulator III library re-organized in 4 sample families. PCM waves from 132 to 135 are especially coded for SPATIAL CONVOLUTION proces, a combination of a normal waveforms with a convolved reverbered one.

- 140 PCM classic percussions - 4 PCM basic waveforms (eg: sinewave) - 21 PCM mathematical generated inharmonic waves - 51 PCM digitally created pulse + FM waves HEAR drum kit 1

PCM waves from 132 to 135 are especially coded for SPATIAL CONVOLUTION proces, a combination of a normal waveforms with a convolved reverbered one.

PERFORMANCE machine handles 16 kits with individual settings:

- volume gain - stereo panning position - Midi channel - zone map - analog out assign - hit velocity - gate or trig mode (EG)

 

 

ENVELOPE up to 2 EGs:
- EG1 amplitude 3 segments AHD with inverse slope switch
- EG2 pitch controls the pitch decay.

Special RANDOM functions humanizes the hihats for more realistic play using 2 settings: - trig mode allows a volume EG to cycle through all its stages when note is received - gate mode allows a volume envelope to cycle through its attack segment and hold stages when a MIDI note on command is received.

LFO a single oscillator (4 shapes: triangle, saw, sinewave and square) for each layer.
Main modulation destinations are:

- LFO 1 amplitude - LFO 2 pitch Modulation can be assigned also to the matrix modulation
