"Digital compact emulation of iconic analog synthesizer Roland Sh101 - part of the limited Boutique series."

Overview

MODULE mignature compat module of the original synthesizer, but all original parameters are there, the only big difference, beside the keys, is the two ribbons on the left side typical from boutique series, dedicated to pitch bending and modulation (with nice white light).
Roland added also a 7 segments, 4 characters (LED) and a very dull internal speaker, not very professional but I suppose for live session on Instagram, while pining for the fjords. If you miss the lack of keyboards, and have chipmunks hands, you can get the optional keyboard model K-25m.

oscillator, filter, envelope +LFO

OSCILLATOR based on Roland proprietary's Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology is aimed to reproduce the SH-101’s legendary sounds recreating the actual behavior of the original analog circuits - we mostly talk about the curtis CEM3340. While the Sh101 was monofonic, the new model reach a maximum Polyphony if 4 voices (4 modes: MONO/UNISON STACK/POLY/CHORD).
The virtual oscillator SH01A is able to generate traditional shapes like sawtooth, pulse with variable width (assignable to modulator) with extra tonal range from 64' to 2': To beef up the basses, the sub oscillator is there (a square wave one octave down, a square wave two octaves down, or a pulse wave two octaves down). Finally all waveforms can be summed together and mixed to white noise (also extra blue one).

FILTER resonant LPF at 4 poles emulation of IR3109 (eg. roland juno60) with key tracking

ENVELOPE 1 X eg with 4 stages ADSR, special gate mode and portamento mode.

LFO modulator with 6 shapes (two extra from original RAMP/ SAW), can be assigned to filter, pitch VCO , VCF or pulse width. For some strange reason, it cannot be synched to masterclock nor external.

Sequencer and arpeggiator

ARPEGGIATOR unlike the old one, the SH-01A arpeggiator (and sequencer) features finally a dedicated clock with clock scale and swing functions. Classic roland features like latch mode, octaves ranges...

SEQUENCER 100-step sequencer, just record, play, and voilà! it is possible to add tie and rest pause. Extra 64 patterns available to save and recall your masterpieces

MEMORY 64 writeable preset patches, you can save them to dedicated free editor.

FUN the sh01a has been released in 3 colors versions: classic happy grey, red and blue, like the grandpa.
