Overview

Main panel features a LCD display, 7 touch-sensitive pads, 32 push buttons and 2 sliders.
Back panel terminal connectors:
- Midi IN and OUT
- TAP tempo input
- 2 pedalswitch inputs for FILL-IN and start/stop function
- tape interface
- headphones out
- stereo signal out
- 2 card slots for memory and new PCM waveforms




Voice
12 digital voices are available.
2 different user modes called OPERATIONS:
- Programming sequencer
- Presets Rhythm playback

Wavetable
there are 29 samples onboard at 12 bits mainly classic percussions and a few bass sounds.
Each sample can be edited with pan position, pitch and played in MONO or POLYPHONIC mode.

Expansion cards
the wavetable can be expanded using PCM cards "memory card ROM" also compatible with DDD-1 and DRM-1 models.

Preset patterns
24 pre-programmed patterns inlcuding: rap, rock, metal, reggae, shuffle, waltz, foxtrot, samba, merengue, jazz, bossnova, country, funk, rnb and funk.

Sequencer
patterns can be recoder in either:
- real-time with metronome
- step by step mode

Roll, flames swing options are programmable.
The tempo can be slaved to external Midi clock.

Envelope
only the decay can be set for each percussion. Pads sensibilities can be also set from the edit interface.

Midi
possible sound mapping, but no advanced exclusives management.
Of course sounds can be triggered by Midi with velocity but no special Control Change.

"The DDD-5 is now a bit old and forgotten. It is anyway a good source for lo-fi sounds and a nice and cheap Midi programmer / controller"
