MFB synth lite II (2009)

Budget mini-synth that may interest people looking for hybrid-sid like synthesis with controls.

This is the second release Mk2 with blue colors chassis and some technical enhancements on the oscillators.

PORTABLE handheld synthesizer. Main panel features a segment display, 15 knobs and 9 buttons.

Back panel terminal connectors:
- audio jack out
- audio input for external filtering
- Midi IN /OUT

 

Powers supply is external with standard 9V +) polarity.

VOICE monophonic subtractive synthesis.
A voice is composed by 2 oscillators +1 suboscillator, 3 legato playmodes with 3 preset speed rates:
-1/4 -1/2 -1/1 .

FILTER analog low-pass VCF at 4 poles, it reaches self-resonance.
LINE IN function for external signal process.

ENEVELOPE 2 EGs:
- EG1 VCF : 3-segments ADS + release fixed or equivalent to decay value
- EG2 VCA : same specs as EG1.

LFO a single modulator (shapes: saw, square or triangle) with variable depth and 3 destinations:
1- VCO pitch
2- VCF filter
3- PWM width.

 

SEQUENCER simple sequencer with 32 step entry modes with real-time Midi transpose.
MIDI all parameters are mapped to Midi control change.

 

MEMORY
- 83 ROM patches
- 83 RAM patches
- 20 sequences.
Data dump by Midi exclusives and the patch number 0 (zero) is panel actual knobs positions.

Mk1 lite is basically the same, while bigger MFB Synth2 adds many new features.
