Eko Stradivarius (c.a 1974)
Italian analog String processor
A quite rare String processor from Italy similar to famous Solina synthesizer with classic vintage 70 ' sounds.
The name is of course derived from the genius Italian violins crafter ANTONIO STRADIVARI.

VOICE the Stradivarius a string processor based on octave dividers technology.
The principle is summing different synthesized string and horn sounds at different volumes, according to the relative slider each with a gain value from 0 to 9 (maximum).
The main keyboard structure is organized
into2 main sections:
- lower only on first octave, it thicks basses
- higher on whole octaves.
SOUND there are 6 summable instruments:
- CONTRABASS (only lower octave)
- CELLO
(only lower octave)
- VIOLIN
- VIOLA
- TRUMPET
- HORN.
ENVELOPE the edit is limited to 2 SEGMENTS:
- CRESCENDO (attack)
- SUSTAIN.
MAINTENANCE two main common issues:
-
slider sometimes may need to be lubricated for smooth movements.
- some dividers chip may fail on polyphony, I do had several troubles. Not the most reliable machine in the world.

REVIEW "A standard string processor like many from this era, maybe a cheap alternative to Solina." |
