Description: Old computer from 1986, an enhanced version of the classic spectrum 48k made by Amstrad when Sinclair failed. It adds more memory and an internal tape player (also a decent keyboard) and some more things
The unit switched on for a short moment then just went black screen. Opening the Sinclair, I heard something floating around that was not present before.
I was quite surprised to find a loose D880 TRANSISTOR and 3 soldered wire attached to ... nothing. Ok it was clear that the TO220 has been used instead of the TO92 package.
A quick glance at the schematics at TR9... TR8 (ZTX213) and TR9 (ZTX650) bingo.
Just found some NOS 653 that would be just be fine
And working after a couple of reboot.
I have a speech synthesizer to try out, and maybe some sample pack out of it. Stay tuned!
