Hohner Bass 3 (197x)

 

Suitcase monophonic bass transitors synthesizer made in Germany- compact keyboard based on 3 presets with no possible edit.
Hohner is a society born in 1857 still in business, mostly famous for Accordions and harmonicas, not to mention the funky god keyboard Clavinet D6.

KEYBOARD keyboard in black-leatherette suitcase with 30 keys, it originally came with a little stand for performance play.

The mainboard features:
- 3 push button
- 2 knobs
- 1 trimmer for master tuning

Back panel terminal connectors:

- main signal out

 

VOICE single oscillator structure based on MM74C14N which generates squared waveforms.
The Hohber Bass 3 generates 3 presets with very limited edit:

- guitar - string - tuba HEAR waveforms

 

<- All presets sound quite similar but the attack which is more sharped on guitar preset, tuba is more square-shapped sound with overtones.

 

FUNCTION the left knobs is the main volume while the right one is a kind of envelope decay from shorter to longer for more sustain.
