Vertical Reverberation System (1982)

German rackmount hybrid analog-digital effect unit from early eighties generates reverb and delay.

RACKMOUNT 2 standar units height .
Main panel features 7 knobs, 4 buttons, 2 switches and a 12-bars red led meter.

Back panel terminal connectors:
- stereo mix out
- stereo wet out
- mono direct out
- mono input
- 5-dins connector for input and output

Front panel terminal connectors:
- main mix out
- signal input
- pedalswitch for bypass.

TECH Dynacord VRS 23 works from 20 Hz to 20 kHz range response.
Unit can be set to 2 effect modes but not both at same time:
- MODE 1: stereo REVERB
- MODE 2: mono DELAY ECHO

EDIT pretty simple with smooth knobs for quick sounds control.

REVERB MODE a simulated reverb as the circuit using delay lines from analog BBD chips.

<<- LEFT when switched to REVERB mode some parameters can be changed using the delay commands: - time buttons are the reverb intensity - regeneration is the duration - delay knob is the density.

DELAY MODE up to 400 ms of delay time in delay mode with a stereo ping pong effect.
There are 4 echo modes: 50 / 100 / 200 / 400 ms

Some delay parameters can be adjusted: - delay: sets the delay time - regeneration: sets the number of echoes. TIP: - shortest time create typical flanging and chorused effects. Hear modulation

FILTER the TONE control is simple analog lowpass filter.






LFO single triangle-shaped oscillator modulates the amplitude

the LFO two sub-controls: - SWEEP FREQ is the frequency rate - DEPTH is the modulation amount. Hear time tweaking

 

REVISION MODELS also in white face version:

there are at least 2 revisions models with different chipsets:

LEFT - first version (black one?) with N823-OM then white one with TDA 1097 8-pins variation of classic TDA 1022 + 10 BBD bucked brigade devices.
