Updated version of Roland JV-1080 module keeping same waveform but adding for expansion slots, a bigger display, better effect DSP and some extra sounds onboard.
Overview
MODULE 2 rack units. Main panel features a 320 x 80 pixels display, 35 buttons, 2 knobs and 1 slots for DATA memory card .

Wavetable
8 Mb ROM contains 448 PCM at 16-bits waves, split into 2 main families:
1- 193 PCM percussive and chromatic one-shot

Jv2080 is expandable using SRJ-V board (usual size is 4 or 8 MB) fitted in 1 of the 8 available slots. There are 21 SR-JV available with different instrument styles
Performance
JV engine manages up 16 parts each with assignable:
A special GM (General MIDI) bank reads SMF Midi for a total compatibility.
Filter
TVF - Time-Variant Filter - offers 4 modes: lowpass, bandpass, highpass and peaking
LFO
2 delayed modulators with sync option, fade-in/out; they do provide 7 shapes with adjustable symmetries.
Envelope
each TONE features 3 EGs:
1- EG1 amplitude: 4 segments + 3 times, 8 velocity curves + key follows option
2- EG2 filter : 4 segments + 4 times.
3- EG3 pitch 4 segments + 4 times, keyfollow + random pitch
FX
1- EFX: 40 inserts algorithms :overdrive, phaser, EQ, Leslie, tremolo, flanger, delay, and pitch-shifter
2- Reverb: 7 classic algorithms (Hall, Room, delay, stage) with adjustable damp time
3- Chorus: digital chorus has variable rate, pre-delay, feedback and depth.

OK: classic digital / lot of bread butter sounds
NOT : few upgrades / JV acoustic sounds are getting old
"Some improvement from classic 1080, but nothing really new - bigger display for sure help a better edit. Traditional 90 work horse"
