Overview
RACK one black unit. Main panel features a numeric orange 16 X 2 lines display, 16 buttons and an alpha-data dial for values entries.
Back panel terminal connectors:
- custom RCC input for pedal board
- signal input
- stereo out
- line out
- Midi interface
- send return
Sound
circuit design is based on several hybrid digital-analog technologies (6 analog + 2 digital).
Effect
rack offers 8 different kinds of effects that can be partially edited or switched OFF.
-overdrive: simulates saturation, it should be a Turbo Overdrive equivalent.
-distortion: more a DS1 rather than a SD-1
-compressor: long sustain by cutting higher input and boosting lower input compression range from to -35dB
-phaser: a bit like out-of-control but the cold metallic feeling is interesting.
-equalizer: a simple 3 -bands EQ, precious in final chain effects for a final retouch.
-digital delay: up to 1000 ms time resolution at 12 bits, lacks panning effects.
-digital chorus: very good, best fx of the unit
-dynamic filter: changes the filter cutoff frequency and produces a WAH effect similar to the T-Wah stompbox.
Midi
only 2 Midi CC# control changes are available: numbers 80 & 16 for expression purposes, same functions as Ev-5 pedal.
System does also handle Midi exclusives.
Memory
- 128 RAM performances
Review
OK: chorus / now cheap
NOT : limited edit / no reverb
"Quality effects, vintage sounding and genuine circuits enclosed in a single rack unit- Bang for the bucks: How much would you pay for EACH boss stompbox?"
