Overview
KEYBOARD 61 keys keyboard with velocity and aftertouch. Main panel features a 16 x 2 lines backlit LCD, a data encoder, 30 push buttons, 1 slider for main volume and 2 wheels for pitch and LFO modulation.
Rear panel terminal connectors:
-
main out + headphones
- Midi interface
-
sustain pedalswitch input
-
program UP pedalswitch input
- record pedalswitch input
- line and Mic inputs
Voice
6 channels polyphony. Sampled sounds are assigned to voices, and each samples has some edit functions:
- transpose pitch
- tune pitch
- backward play
- drum play (EG does not end at retrig)
Up to 6 samples can be assigned to a singles sound with split point, useful to create drum or multisampled instrument.
Sample
X7000 monophonically samples at 12 bits resolution with adjustable bandwidth rates (4 - 40 kHz ).
Samples can be edited with classic functions such as: overdub, resample, trimmer/cut,
loop point (forward, backward or alternate), in addition, the automatic splicing automatically finds the best loop point.
Sample impot
It is possible to import / export samples by Midi, but the process is not compliant to standard SDS sample DUMP.
Performance
system manages up to 6 indipendent parts with some functions:
- mono mode (2)
- LFO to aftertouch
-
midi channel assignment
- volume gain
Filter
a non-resonant filter based on a MF6CN a switched capacitor VCF a kind of an hybrid analog-digital offers -12dB/ Oct. slope.
The filter can be assigned to velocity and features a simple Keytrack function.
LFO
1 single delayed triangular modulator with 99 scaled intensity/depth values.
The LFO modulates only the pitch (vibrato)
Envelope
2 EGs (only release segment) and 2 destinations:
- amplitude
- filter cutoff
Memory
- 32 programs
- 256 kb sampling ram (?)
- 2.8 quick disk storage (64 KB x 2)
Review
OK: cheap / 12 bits / filter
NOT : quick disk / memory restriction / bulky / envelope
"for old school sampler lovers :) Give it a try if you like grungy 12 bits compressed sound! if you don't have much room, you should maybe check out rack version S700 or the previous S612 with real-times controls."
