Solton Project 100
Programmable Keyboard (year?)

 

Italian polysynth based on DCO oscillators + SSM filters with on-board sequencer.


A collaboration between Solton and Ketron.

KEYBOARD 61 keys C-C with joystick pitchbender (with bend amount).
Main project 100 panel features 31 buttons and 7 knobs (exists also with funny accordion buttons PIC).


Rear panel terminal connectors:
- stereo signal out + headphones
- Midi interface
- damper pedalswitch input
- tape interface (IN + OUT)
- trigger clock input

TECH the main processor is based on a single 8 bits Intel P8031 which handles up to 6 voices polyphony. Each Project 100 voice is composed by 2 detunable digitally controller oscillators DCO1 + DCO2 located on 6 voice boards.

OSCILLATORS DCO1 and DCO 2 are nearly identical:

FILTER a lowpass 4 poles resonant filter based on 6 X SSM 2045 IC with fixed keytracking.

ENVELOPE up to 2 EGs per voice based on 12 X SSM 2056 IC.

LFO a single delayed modulator (2 shapes: sine or square) with variable amount depth and speed frequency. Up to 3 possible summable destinations sharing same frequency amount:

- LFO DCO pitch - Hear the DCO LFO - LFO VCF cutoff - Hear the VCF LFO - LFO VCA level - Hear the DCO VCA

EFFECT analog chorus based on a 3 line BBD TDA 1022P.

SEQUENCER up to 4 tracks sequencer with Mono or Polyphonic recording, measures sets.

MIDI in edit mode it is possible to edit all parameters USER-patches using CONTROL CHANGE. The list is printed on the machine but it is not very standard in the Midi protocol.

TIP: the Midi buffer quickly chokes freezing the whole system.

EDITOR Proejct 100 can be edited using a freeware program "SM100 editor" (sm100 is the module version, the same):
