Solton MDR16 (1986)
Multi track digital recorder

 

Not really a synthesizer but an obsolete 16-tracks Midi player/recorder with Floppy disk storage.

main panel features a 16 X 2 lines Push button keyboard 0 - 9. Operating modes: PLAY, EDIT, MIDI-CLOCK, DISK. Other controls: START, STOP, ENTER, DOWN, UP.

Back panel terminal connectors:
- MIDI IN / OUT / THRU
- SYNC IN / OUT (5 v. TTL).
- Metronome Audio output +volume: Low, High, Off.
- Start/Stop Footswitch.
- Trigger Input

 

RECORD: Real Time or Step by Step.

- Some various QUANTIZE option: 1/4, 1/8, 1/12, 1/16, 1/24, 1/32, 1/48, 1/96. - Step by Step programmable musical notes or rest: 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/12, 1/16, 1/24, 1/32, 1/48, 1/64. - TIME SIGNATURE: Any value between 1/4 and 16/8. -Track selection: MASTERTRACK, SUBTRACK, TEMPORARY TRACK. - TIE and GATE Fuctions

-Master, Sub., Temporary, Mixing of Sub and Tempo to Master. - MIDI channel modification - Calling-up a MIDI channel from master to Sub. Modificatio an of Tempo, Voice Program, Transposer, Quantize and Time Signature. - BLANK, DELETE, INSERT, COPY and LOOP functions.

PLAY Number of the Song, Track selection: Master, Sub, Tempo
MIDI channel used in the Song. Bars and notes used in the Song. TRANSPOSER: Transposer range: 1 octave down - 1 octave up.

DISK: 3 1/2" double sided - double density, 1 Megabyte (about 160.000 notes).

Internal functions: - INITIALIZING - SAVE Song, LOAD Song, VERIFY Song, Song LIST, Disk FREE - RENAME Song, DELETE Song, LOCK/UNLOCK Song. - Disk BACKUP

MIDI Accepted MIDI informations: Note On/Off, Program Change, Key Velocity, Pitch Bend, Control Change, After Touch, Exclusive Message, Echo back.

SYNC: 4 Clock types: INTERNAL, EXTERNAL, TRIGGER, MIDI.
- Clock values available for SYNC IN: 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, 48, 96
- values available for SYNC OUT: 12, 24, 48, 96.
- Synchronization with external trigger.
- tempo rage from 30 to 255 BPM

MEMORY: Internal RAM of 64 Kbytes - non volatile:

- 12.000 notes - 16 songs
